Since the council-run Studios company was created in 2007, Hertsmere has received over £16 million from the Studios - £400 for every single home across the borough.
FIGHTING AGAINST OVER-DEVELOPMENT
Hertsmere is a great place to live and work and we must ensure it stays that way.
We accept the borough will grow and develop but not at any cost and not unless there is the right infrastructure such as roads and health centres. We have made our views known to Government.
TOUGH MEASURES AGAINST TRAVELLER INCURSIONS
Your Conservative council has taken strong and fast action to evict Travellers from our land and we now have a three-year court ban on traveller incursions.The mess left behind, including human waste, is appalling. We have lobbied Government ministers for stronger and quicker powers to clear travellers off our land.
BRINGING BACK OUR HOMELESS
We are building temporary homes so residents who find themselves homeless can be housed locally. School children shouldn’t have to get on buses before 6am to travel each day to and from temporary homes outside the Borough to school in Hertsmere. The first homes will be ready in the summer.
A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE
Hertsmere was the first authority in Hertfordshire to fund Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s). Even in difficult financial times we maintain funding. They help reassure residents and keep crime low. In our recent residents’ survey 96% of people feel safe on our streets. We want to get it to 100%.
MORE MONEY FOR PARKS & GREEN SPACES
Hertsmere is proud of our six award-winning parks across the Borough and we know how much they are enjoyed and used by residents, families and pets too. Even in tough financial times your Conservative council believes we should continue to invest in our parks.
LOW COUNCIL TAX
Your Conservative Run Borugh Council provides over 60 services including recrycling collections, roviding Police Cpommunity Support Offices, award winng parks, open spaces, lesuire centres and swimming. Our share of the council tax is just £162 a year. The rest goes to Herts county, the Police and Parishes.

In our latest three yearly independent survey of over 1,000 residents, more than 8 out of 10 say you are happy living in this area.
- Some 83% of residents are satisfied with your local area as a place to live. Two thirds are happy with how your Tory council runs things.
