Last year local Conservative councillors formed a community-based project to brighten up Potters Bar at Christmas.
Christmas in Potters Bar was launched and supported by many enthusiastic members of the public who wanted to make their town really special over the festive period. A series of fund-raising activities were organised throughout the year to provide a wonder-ful display of lights throughout the town.
The community hosted a special event in Oakmere Park on Saturday 8th December. Over 1200 people attended and enjoyed a special Christmas tree lighting ceremony with Mayor Brenda Batten and MP Oliver Dowden. Various school choirs and dance groups participated and there were several children’s attractions, and food and drink stalls.
This is an established community project aimed to serve the residents of Potters Bar for several years to come.
